ROUGH START FOR POLK COUNTY SLAMMERS

STROMSBURG-There was no lack of offense as the Polk County Slammers hosted HWY 91 on Thursday night in both team’s season openers.The Cyclones who are based out of Leigh scored in every inning including crooked numbers in five of the seven frames on their way to the 18-12 win.

OSCEOLA- It has been 32 years (1993) since the Black and Orange of the Osceola Bulldogs have made an appearance at the Nebraska State Volleyball Tournament.The ingredients to rewrite history is all in place as the Bulldogs enter the 2025 season with high hopes and expectations.

OSCEOLA- The Osceola Bulldogs will feature a balanced attack this year as they return several experienced players from the 2024 team that posted a 2-6 record.Most of the Bulldogs problems in 2024 was that their defense allowed 38.13 points per game, while the offense put up 17.

OSCEOLA - Osceola had 11 qualifiers (and two alternates) while High Plains had 8 boys qualify for state track next week in Omaha after an exciting Class D District meet in Osceola.

Titans drop pair of games heading into districts

GENOA — The Titans took on two of the state’s top Class C teams last week ahead of Thursday’s District C-3 game.Twin River dropped a road game to Class C No. 3 Adams Central, 7-0, on Wednesday. The Titans fell to Class C No. 1 Central City/ Centura, 10-4, on Thursday.

Lady Bulldogs First, Lady Huskies Fourth in Osceola

OSCEOLA- Many athletes were gone for state FFA convention, but track went on as scheduled in Osceola.The Osceola girls came in first with 127 points, followed by Archangels Catholic with 106, Nebraska Lutheran at 83 and Shelby-Rising City with 77.
