BARGAIN SHOPPING

This last weekend was an event called “Bargains for You on 92”. It was put together by Sheri Steager of Surprise with help from ten other people, including Denise Andersen of Osceola, Maxine Goelz of Shelby, Lori Pesicka Frasch of Shelby and Ashley Eickmeier of Rising City.

Area 4-H’ers on Display at State Fair

GRAND ISLAND — Polk County is well represented at the Nebraska State Fair. Over the weekend, 4-H projects were judged and fashion and livestock shows took place. Projects are now on display. The 4-H exhibits open every day at 10 a.m. in the FFA 4-H Building.

Traffic Fatality in Polk County

OSCEOLA — On August 25th at about 11:20 a.m. the Polk County Sheriff’s office and Osceola Fire/Ambulance Department were dispatched to an accident by mile marker 395 on highway 92, just west of Osceola for an injury accident. Nebraska State Patrol was also called in to assist.

TEN YEARS AGO August 30, 2012 The Osceola FFA Alumni held their annual consignment auction. Jordan Lassek was pictured as auctioneer. Calvin Coffin of Osceola set up a unique photo shoot of three Husker-detailed vehicles: a helicopter, semi-truck and trailer, and a Hummer.
