LINCOLN - The Nebraska Department of Labor (NDOL) announced today that Nebraska’s preliminary unemployment rate for August 2022 is 2.1 percent, seasonally adjusted. The rate is up 0.1 percentage points from the July 2022 rate and is down 0.4 percentage points from the August 2021 rate of 2.

Governor Highlights Increased Property Tax Relief Available to Nebraskans

LINCOLN — Today, Governor Pete Ricketts held a press conference to highlight the historic amount of tax relief available to Nebraskans. During his time in office, Gov. Ricketts has worked with the Legislature to pass $12.7 billion in total tax relief.

POLK — Each year, Sandy Creek has a Pink-Out game to raise money for St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. All of the proceeds are donated to the hospital.

High Plains students spent time on Monday decorating the school for Homecoming. The school has had themed days all week ahead of Friday's big game. Thursday is Twix and Twizzler Day (Twin Day). Friday's theme is Firecracker Popsicle so students are encouraged to wear red, white and blue. The Storm takes on East Butler on Friday with a 7 p.m. kickoff. Photos provided
