Huskies win Fifth Straight, Rout Mead 52-6

SHELBY–As the Shelby-Rising City football team readies for the Class D-1 playoffs, the Huskies (6-1) have showcased an improved running game while winning five straight contests.

Huskies Add Two More Wins Before CRC

SHELBY - It was senior night on Tuesday, recognizing the four volleyball seniors: Taya Pinneo, Emma Svoboda, Mackenzie Kuns and Jordyn Donner. It was extra special for Pinneo after she accomplished her 2000th assist of her career during the second set when the score was 3-5.

Huskies Score 10 TDs on Broncos

UTICA – The Huskies traveled to Utica to take on the Centennial Broncos. The Huskies came home with the win, 76-38.The first quarter had a nice pass from Logan Lindsley to Blake Schmidt to get them to the 20.

Huskies Add Wins Against Tigers and Wolverines

SHELBY – The Huskies hosted the East Butler Tigers for “pink out” night for breast cancer awareness. They raised $609 for the fight, and also won in three sets 25-10, 25-20 and 25-17.The first set the Huskies led with an early ace serve by Taya Pinneo. Brooklyn Baker also added two later.

SRC Golf Finishes Regular Season

HASTINGS - Husky girls’ golf participated in the Adams Central invite last Tuesday. Alexis Wetjen came in 10th place, shooting 98. Clare Willis was next with 110, Mazzee Staroscik had 132, Kynlee Hamling with 143 and Melanie Sanchez-Diaz with 171.CENTURA - Thursday they golfed at Centura.

Huskies Win 42-12 Over Host East Butler

DWIGHT – Dalton Pokorney produced 148 yards combined with rushing and receiving and blocked a punt that led to a touchdown as Shelby-Rising City earned its third straight victory with a 42-12 win at East Butler last Friday.

Shelby-RC Interception Frenzy Sinks Heartland

SHELBY – Following a split of games against two physically- demanding road teams, Shelby-Rising City celebrated its Homecoming last Friday with a defensive effort that may have been unprecedented in Polk County, returning three interceptions for touchdowns during a 60-8 win over Heartland.
