A pair of Shelby-Rising City alums are making an impact for their respective college teams this fall as Max Hoatson continues to play football for South Dakota School of Mines and Liberty Baker plays volleyball at York University.

SRC Girls’ Golf at GICC

GRAND ISLAND - Husky Golf went to the Grand Island Central Catholic Invite on Thursday. Clare Willis andAlexis Wetjen had great improvement as last year they each shot 132. This year Willis came in with 112 and Wetjen 121.

Huskies Defend Well Against Loss to Sandy Creek

SANDY CREEK – The Shelby- Rising City Huskies traveled to Sandy Creek to take on the Cougars Friday night. The #4 ranked Huskies fought hard, but lost 28-6 to the #2 ranked Cougars.The first quarter was all defense on both sides of the ball.

Lady Cougars Win Over Huskies

STROMSBURG – It seemed appropriate that match point in Thursday night’s Cross County 28-26, 25-17, 25-21 volleyball victory over Shelby-Rising City was a Sydney Hengelfelt kill, her 16th of the night.

Panthers Add Two Wins

DAVID CITY — Blue River cruised to a 6-1 win over Lakeview on Thursday.The Panthers jumped out to a 5-0 lead after 3 innings before the Vikings could plate a runner.Meagan Jahde led the way going 2-for-4 with 2 RBI and 2 runs scored. Abby Lindsley went 1-for-3 with 2 RBI.

Huskies Score First Win Over Freeman

SHELBY – The Shelby-Rising City Huskies hosted the Freeman Falcons for a Friday night opener. The Huskies came away with the win 66-24.The Huskies got on the board first with not even a minute off the clock with a 10-yard run by Carter Eickmeier.

The Shelby-Rising City Huskies had a good season last year, going 8-2 and getting to the second round of playoffs, losing to EMF. They only lost a few starters, so Coach Kubik is excited about this season.

Husky Volleyball Aims for the Post-Season

Shelby-Rising City lost two starters to graduation (the Larmon twins), but they still have high expectations with several other returning players. Taya Pinneo is the senior setter who brings much experience to the court. She set extensively last year, putting up 600 for the season.
