Cougars Get Two Wins Over Huskies

SHELBY – Cross County made the short trip to Shelby to face the Huskies on Friday night. GIRLS The Huskies got off to a slow start, but the Cougars seemed ready in the first quarter.

Huskies Split Against Titans

GIRLS SHELBY — The Huskies used the one-two punch of Ava Larmon and Taya Pinneo to knockout the Titans on Saturday. Shelby-Rising City (1-1) picked up their first win of the season, defeating Twin River (1-1) 43-33 at home. Pinneo led all scorers with 15 points and Larmon added 14 points.

Husky Wrestling Takes 3rd at Lakeview

In team scores, Shelby-Rising City came in third with 159 points behind Columbus Lakeview (182 points) and Raymond Central (175 points).

HPC Wrestling at Ravenna & HPC/SRC at Winside

RAVENNA - High Plains wrestled at the Dom Riecks Invitational in Ravenna. At 120 pounds, Levi Russell placed third with teammate Hudson Urkoski placing fourth. Lance Russell came in second at 132 pounds. Gage Friesen placed second at 144 pounds. Wyatt Urkoski placed first at 175 pounds.

Shelby-RC One Act is Statebound!

NEBRASKA CITY – Shelby- Rising City took first place at districts last Wednesday with their play “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow.” Aiden Zimmerman was named overall best actor.

SRC Bowling Finishes at Districts

MALCOLM - The Shelby-Rising City bowlers competed in districts in Malcolm on Monday. They came in fourth with a score of 728. Coming in first was Seward scoring 929, second was North Bend with 827, third Wahoo with 734. They finished on their best series.

SHELBY – A year ago, with only one senior on the roster, the Shelby-Rising City boys basketball team had its share of struggles early as some inexperienced players found their footing in an 8-15 season. Head coach Jim Buswell’s team shouldn’t have those kinds of troubles this winter.
