Shelby-RC Unified Bowling Starts Their Season

At the Malcolm Invite, Braxton Siffring, Ethan Fjell and Landon Sliva came in 7th, with the next team of Zany Lillie, Gavin Ohnemus and Eli Fjell in 14th, and Izzy Punko, Clare Willis and Allison Albracht coming in 20th. There were 32 total teams.

The Huskies Fall to Bobcats in a Shutout

MILLIGAN - It seemed the Huskies had to overcome three obstacles on Friday night: the weather, the EMF Bobcats and the referees. It was a cold 30-something degree night with not much wind. It was mostly a one-man show for EMF as Breckan Schluter ran for 234 yards and all four touchdowns.

SRC wins playoff opener 58-0

SHELBY – Gabe Dutton-Mofford rushed 19 times for 195 yards and two touchdowns and Ethan Fjell added two scoring runs to go with 73 yards on seven totes as Shelby-Rising City (8-1) produced a 58-0 rout of Elmwood-Murdock (7-2) in the first round of the Class D-1 football playoffs Thursday.

Cross County Beats Turnover-Prone S-RC

STROMSBURG – With 15 seniors on its roster, Cross County’s football team had enough experience to dream about a Class D-1 state football championship, but it never hurts to have another good athlete join the fray and junior Langdon Arbuck proved that last Friday.

Football Playoff Previews

The first round of playoffs has been announced. We are pleased that ALL FOUR Polk County teams made it. The Cross County Cougars (8-0) district champions host Wisner- Pilger (5-3) in Stromsburg at 6 PM on Thursday evening. Cross County comes off an undefeated season with 15 seniors.

Osceola and Shelby-RC Meet in Triangular

The Osceola Bulldogs and Shelby-Rising City Huskies met in a triangular held in Shelby along with Meridian on Tuesday night.  Both teams lost to CRC top ranked Meridian in two sets. Osceola lost 25-11 and 25-16. The Huskies lost 25-12 and 25-17.
