Area Wrestlers Back in Action

FREEMAN — Cross County-Osceola traveled to the Freeman Invite on Friday. Devin Nuttelman was crowned the 106-pound champion at the event. He defeated teammate Wyatt Smith in 2:24 in the final round. Nuttelman went 5-0 on the day with five pins.

Bulldogs, Huskies Face Off in First Round

YORK — The Osceola and Shelby-Rising City girls were seeded to play each other in the Crossroads Conference tournament on Saturday. They had not yet played each other in regular season, as they are scheduled for Feb. 10 in Shelby.

Huskies See 2 Champs Crowned at David City

Justin Knoll DAVID CITY — Shelby-Rising City had two champions at the David City Invite over the weekend. The Huskies finished third with 111 points. Millard West was the top placing team with 152 points. Collin Vrbka went a perfect 5-0 on the day at 220 pounds.

Huskies Open CRC Play with Win Over Hornets

YORK — Shelby-Rising City opened the Crossroads Conference Tournament on Saturday with a 40-30 win over Giltner in their firstround matchup at the York City Auditorium. Gabe Dutton-Mofford The Huskies used an 8-0 run in the first quarter to set the tone for the game and they never looked back.

Huskies offense comes alive in 4th quarter

SHELBY — Shelby-Rising City’s offense came alive in the fourth quarter and the defense held Dorchester’s offense in check during the second half as the Huskies snapped a 2-game losing streak with a 54-31 win over the Longhorns.
