Huskies shoot a 477 at Pawnee Hill

FULLERTON — The Shelby-Rising City golfers were back in action on Tuesday at the Fullerton Invite at Pawnee Hills Golf Club. Jenna Logan led the way with a 104. Aurora Slusarski finished with a 106. Clare Willis shot a 133, Lillian Wetjen shot a 134 and Loralie Logan finished with a 150.

Huskies Compete at Boone Central Invite

ALBION — Shelby-Rising City golfers were in action on Saturday at the Boone Central Invite at Albion Country Club. Jenna Logan led the way for the Huskies, shooting a team-low 106 to finish in a four-way tie for 25th place.

Panthers, Slammers Compete at David City

DAVID CITY — Polk County and Blue River each went 1-2 on the day at the David City Invite on Saturday, each dropping games to some of the best teams in the state. Polk County opened the day with a 2-1 win over Mercy.

Big 3rd inning propels Panthers to win

DAVID CITY — Blue River used a three run third inning to help the Panthers defeat Centennial 5-4 on Thursday. The Panthers used their big inning to stretch their lead to 4-1 after three innings. The Broncos would get two runs in the fourth and tie the game 4-4 in the fifth.

Area teams gear-up for week 4 football

NO. 2 COUGARS LOOK TO STAY UNBEATEN As area high school football teams prepare for the fourth week of the season, Class D-1 No. 2 Cross County is the only county school to remain unbeaten. The Cougars (3-0) are averaging 64 points per contest and have scored over 70 points in the last two weeks.

Panthers bats come alive in 19-9 win

WILBER — Blue River saw its bats come alive on Tuesday as the Panthers defeated Wilber-Clatonia 19-9. Danica Watts, Meagan Jahde and Nicole Martensen all had three hits for the Panthers in the contest. Carter finished with four RBI. Martensen hit her sixth home run of the season in the win.

Huskies top Hawks in straight sets

SHELBY — Shelby-Rising City made a clean sweep of Hampton on Tuesday. The Huskies (8-3) defeated the Hawks (4-9) in straight sets, 25-12, 25-23, 25-13. Liberty Baker led the way for the Huskies with 10 kills, nine digs and three aces. Ava Larmon finished with nine kills, two blocks and three aces.

Huskies golfers finish in top 10

GENEVA — Two Shelby-Rising City golfers finished in the top 10 on Tuesday at the Exeter-Milligan Invite at Hidden Hills Country Club. Aurora Slusarski and Jenna Logan each shot 113 to finish 8th and 9th at the invite. The Huskies finished with a team score of 504.

Huskies Split Triangular at Ryan Hill in Osceola

OSCEOLA — The Shelby-Rising City girls’ golf team split a match with Columbus Lakeview and Schuyler on Monday at Ryan Hill Country Club. Lakeview finished first with a team score of 192. All five of their golfers finished ahead of the pack.
