Blue River Takes 3rd at North Bend Invite

NORTH BEND — Blue River softball took home third place over the weekend at the North Bend Invite. Blue River dropped their first round game to Fort Calhoun, 5-1. The Panthers only run came off a Rylie Carter home run. The team bounced back with a 12-0 win over Schuyler.

Huskies Finish 7th at West Point-Beemer Invite

NORFOLK — Shelby-Rising City girls golf finished seventh Saturday at the West Point-Beemer Invite, shooting a 547. “Indian Trails is a beast of a course considering we have so many golfers on our team with very minimal experience,” Huskies coach Sara Jensen said.

Come-From-Behind Rally Leads to Panthers Win

NORTH BEND — Blue River softball never gave up on Monday despite finding themselves in a 8-2 hole. The Panthers rallied to take a 12-10 lead in the fifth inning before adding a few insurance runs to win 15-10.

Huskies Golf Swinging Away

SHELBY — Shelby-Rising City girls’ golf is building toward the future. Huskies coach Sara Jensen said that this year’s team is the biggest in her five-year tenure. Of the 10 players who came out for the team this year, only one athlete — Aurora Slusarski — has more than one season of experience.

Teams Learn Classification

The NSAA released classifications for the 2022 Fall Season on July 20. GIRLS GOLF Shelby-Rising City will compete in Class C. SOFTBALL The Blue River softball team will participate in Class B. The team includes Shelby-Rising City athletes.

Junior SOS Rebels Fall to PWG, Wood River to End Season

SILVER CREEK — After starting off with two wins, the Shelby Osceola Stromsburg Post #91 #132 #296 Junior Legion team lost 19-8 to PWG Sunday and needed a victory over Wood River in order to stay alive in the Class C Area 5 tourney held at Silver Creek’s Ralph Jilg Field.

Dynamite Earn Silver in SLS League Tournament
