Stats of state-ranked Class C-2 schools compared to Cross County

As of last week, Cross County was rated seventh in the latest Class C-2 boys basketball point ratings. The Cougars are averaging 60.4 points per game, commit 10.4 turnovers per contest, shoot 30 percent from the 3-point line with 96 treys, and have a 54 percent foul shooting rate.

HP Girls Battling Tough Sub-district Slate Illnesses

POLK – After having hosted a sub-district for the first time in girls basketball history a year ago, High Plains head coach Megan Bruce is hoping to rinse and repeat, so to speak, and with a 15-7 mark, the Storm has the best record among the five teams in the D1-5 event.

Osceola Boys Place 4th after Loss to Tigers

Despite 23 points from Boston Hinkle, the Bulldogs were edged by East Butler 64-59 as the Tigers broke a 57-all tie with seven straight points in the closing moments.

Cougar Boys Score CRC Win Over Mustangs

YORK - Coach Blex is fortunate to have five seniors who have played together for about 10 years, and another senior who adds to the strengths. With all this talent and height, Cross County boys defeated McCool Junction 59-50 to win the CRC championship.

Osceola Loses to Cougars in Semi

Cross County used their height and numbers to win over Osceola, 75-36.The first quarter, Cross County came on strong, although free throws were not their strong point. They hit 1 of 6.

Storm Girls Lose to Dorchester in Consolation

YORK – The Storm ladies met Dorchester on December 10th and lost by three points, 29-26. Friday afternoon they met again, this time for third place in conference. The result was similar as Dorchester pulled out the close one, 38-37.Dorchester got the early lead, 15-12 in the first quarter.

CC Girls Continue CRC Dominance in Title Game Win over BDS

YORK – After not winning the CRC title a year ago, Cross County was revved up to get back into the winner’s circle and head coach Mitch Boshart’s team did it in style with a 61-34 championship game win over BDS Friday night.

Huskies & Storm Place at Greeley

GREELEY – Shelby-Rising City and High Plains took part in the Central Valley Invitational on Friday. Shelby-Rising City came in third with 152.5 points. High Plains came in ninth with 71.5 points. There were 21 teams.

High Plains Boys Lose to BDS, Win Over Elba YORK – High Plains played BDS in a consolation game Thursday evening. BDS won 53-48.HPC 3 11 16 18 = 48 BDS 17 13 8 15 = 53 No other information was available at press time.POLK – High Plains hosted Elba on Saturday for a regular season game.
