Vrbkas Lead Huskies at Tri-County Duals

DEWITT – Shelby-Rising City wrestled at the Tri-County duals. Overall they were fourth out of nine teams. They wrestled Tri-County, Fillmore Central, Auburn, Adams Central, Pawnee City, Lakeview, Falls City and Republic County.Senior Collin Vrbka pinned all his opponents or was forfeited to.

SRC Girls Go 1-1 with Meridian & Riverside

SHELBY - The Shelby-Rising City girls just came up short against Riverside and lost 41-35.The first quarter was low scoring with both teams struggling to find the net. Coach Connelly called timeout with just over three minutes left and the score was 4-0 Riverside.

Hans’ Game-Winner Lifts Storm Over Huskies

SHELBY — Ayden Hans has ice in his veins.The Storm senior broke a 51-all tie at the buzzer to give High Plains a 54-51 win over Shelby-Rising City on Friday. Hans scored 8 of his team-high 16 points in the final quarter as the Storm came from behind against the Huskies.

Cougars Defeat Bulldogs in County Clash

OSCEOLA – The Cougars took an early lead and defeated the Bulldogs on their home court, 66-34.In the first quarter, Cross County got the lead first after baskets from Thatcher Hanson and BrockAllen.

Lady Cougars Win Over Lady Dawgs in County Rivalry

OSCEOLA – The Bulldogs got the first point, but the Cougars soon passed them up and won 54-28.Addison Theis put the first shot up, but the Cougars caught up. Emersyn Prososki added a basket for the Bulldogs, and it was 8-4 at timeout.

Lady Storm Top Huskies in County Battle

SHELBY — High Plains held off a late Shelby-Rising City run to hold on for a 35-32 win on Friday.Rylee Ackerson scored 4 of her 5 points in the final 3:26 of the fourth quarter to keep the Storm ahead of the Huskies. Shelby-Rising City connected on just 2-of-9 free throws in the final quarter.

Three Storm Grapplers Place in Pleasanton

PLEASANTON – High Plains boys wrestled at Pleasanton on Saturday. They placed sixth with six wrestlers total. Three took first place. A total of 25 teams were at the meet.Seniors Hudson Urkoski, Gage Friesen and Caleb Sharman all placed first.

Turpitt Places First for Blue River

OMAHA – The Blue River girls wrestled at Millard West on Saturday. Bailey Turpitt placed first, and Danica Watts came in fourth.100: Kynnlee Hamling lost to Maria Hoegemeyer (Millard West) by pin in 3:14. She then had a bye. Then she lost to Jazmin Leija (Linc. Northstar) by pin in 2:41.
