LADY COUGARS WIN 3RD CONSECUTIVE RUNZA HOLIDAY CHAMPIONSHIP

CENTRAL CITY- In a rematch of December 21st at Cross County, the girls took on Central City to try to avenge their only loss. Avenge it they did, and won their 3rd consecutive Runza Holiday tournament championship with a score of 31-29.

Lady Cougars Win Over Wood River in Tourney

WOOD RIVER - Edie Peterson scored a career-high 23 points with five three-point baskets as Cross County’s girls basketball team broke open a close game in the third period and cruised to a 63-38 win over host Wood River on day one of an eight-team tourney that began Saturday.

Storm Boys Place 2nd at East Butler

BRAINARD – The Storm went to East Butler for their annual holiday tournament. Friday they faced Walthill in a rematch of district finals from last spring. This time High Plains won 75-57. Saturday they played in the tournament against fourth ranked in Class D1, East Butler.

Osceola Loses to Knights

OSCEOLA – Osceola girls hosted Archbishop Bergan in the first round of holiday tournament on Saturday. Even with seven girls playing, they couldn’t hold off the Knights, who won 62-42.Addison Theis had a great game putting in 20 points and making 70% of her free throws.

Husky Boys Drop Pair of Games at Tourney

FRIEND — The Huskies opened the second half of the season with a pair of losses at the Exeter-Milligan/ Friend Holiday Tournament.Shelby-Rising City took on the host team on Friday in the opening round of the tournament. The Bobcats cruised to a 67-34 win over the Huskies.
