Huskies Suffer Loss to Mustangs, Boys Win Over Schuyler

GIRLS SHELBY - In spite of a standout performance by Taya Pinneo, the Lady Huskies lost to the Lady Mustangs on Thursday, 53-39.Pinneo had 31 of the Huskies’ 39 points, including tying her record for the most three-pointers in a game, which is 7.

GIRLS The Osceola girls added two more losses to their record against Dorchester and David City Aquinas. However they were able to add a seventh girl to the court, as Emersyn Prososki was back on the floor. She played a little on Thursday against Dorchester and a bit more againstAquinas on Friday.

PLATTEVIEW - The Gress girls (High Plains) wrestled at the Platteview Girls’ invite on Saturday. Dakota placed second.125: Bailey Gress had a bye. She then lost to Jocelyn Tackett (SWI) by 2:38. She then won over Julia Pelach (Millard West) by 2:28 pin.

POLK – The coach is back and the High Plains girls basketball team enjoyed a few home games last week after three road contests, winning one and losing a nailbiter as the Storm headed towards Christmas break.

OSCEOLA – The CCO wrestling invite was held in Osceola on Saturday, although icy weather pushed back the start time two hours. At least one extra team was added as the North Bend Invite was canceled, and Shelby-Rising City came to Osceola.

MCCOOL JUNCTION - The Lady Storm started well against the Lady Mustangs, but ended up with a disappointing overtime loss 54-49.In the first quarter, it was Gahvi Lesiak and Emma Brown doing all the scoring with Lesiak with 7 and Brown 9. Lesiak got 4 of her 10 steals this quarter also.
