Stromsburg Post Legion 135 Many Legions provide services to their communities that are unknown to many people. Some of the more visible things the local Legion does are military funerals, honor guard during festival parade, and Memorial Day and Veterans’ Day services.

Senior Center

By Judy Beatty The Stromsburg Senior Center will have a Medicare meeting on November 21st at 2:30 p.m. Becky Romshek from Aging Partners will be there to update seniors on the changes for 2023. Everyone is welcome!

Blood Pressure Clinics

Clinics to monitor blood pressure will also be held each Tuesday of the month. They will be held at the Senior Center and rotate between each town in Polk County.

Immunization Clinics Nov. 9, 21

The Polk County Health Department will hold immunization clinics at the Polk County Health Department in Osceola on Wednesday, November 9th from 3:30 to 5:30 and Monday, November 21st from 3:30 to 5:30. An appointment is required for compliance to the COVID-19 directives.

Sparrow Publications, LLC (the owner of the Polk County News) is acquiring another newspaper.After negotiations and everything falling into place, we have purchased the Nance County Journal from Bill and Jan Thompson.

Now to resume the tour of Polk county rural churches as inspired by Diana Langer and the Historical Society programs and display boards which can be seen at the St. John’s church on the museum grounds. We left off with the Wesley Chapel site and cemetery and now proceed up into “the valley.
