Pedicure clinics will be held at the Polk County Health Department the 1st Wednesday morning and 3rd Wednesday afternoon of every month. Please call the health department at 402-747-2211 to make an appointment.

Stromsburg Won County Pool

Karl Eckert and Terry Noyd recently brought the county pool trophy to Stromsburg. The Polk County Senior Pool Tournament is held on the last Monday of each month. Eckert and Noyd won the traveling trophy on Sept. 26. Each of the four county senior centers takes a turn playing host to the event.

Cross County FCCLA has started their fall fundraiser! FCCLA is raising funds to cover the costs of chapter activities. You can support the fundraiser by purchasing a pie from any Cross County FCCLA member or emailing the chapter adviser, Sarah Hubel (shubel@crosscounty.esu7.org) to place an order.

Johnson Named MCH’s Fan of the Week

Lottie Johnson enjoyed some special Cross County visitors when she was presented with a new Cougar t-shirt as MCH Fan of the Week. Lottie graduated from Benedict High School in 1950.
Stromsburg alumni Jan Jones came to Cross County School to promote her book 'Let's Explore Weather Lore' with author Sandra Hanson. Students enjoyed hearing about the book, how to find weather, and how animals react to it. Jones and Hanson were middle school teachers in Kearney. By Judy Beatty We welcome the new month of October and have enjoyed the nice weather lately. It seems the months fly by so quickly. County pitch was enjoyed at the Polk center on Monday the 3rd. Next week, on Tuesday the 11th, the business meeting will begin at 10 a.m.
