TEN YEARS AGO August 30, 2012 The Cross County Cubs started practice on August 7th. The Cubs are grades 3rd through 6th and coached by Dennis Koinzan, Brent Hollinger, Danny Seim, Greg Nuttelman, John Hild, Chad Pinkelman and Charles Noyd.

Bresnahan Graduates from UNO

OMAHA - The University of Nebraska at Omaha recently announced itsAugust 2022 graduates. Included in this list was Daniel Bresnahan from Stromsburg, graduating Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science.
Sparrow Publications, LLC, who are the new publishers of the Polk County News, were welcomed to Stromburg by the Chamber. Pictured are Sherry Oberg, Alan Sparrow, Beth Sparrow and Cinda Koinzan. Alan has lived in Stromsburg over 20 years, and Beth over 15 years, so they know the community. Beth has previously worked in publishing at Cookbooks by Morris Press, as a dental secretary for Bryan Dickey, DDS and digitizing at the courthouse before coming to PCN.

Mischievous Metals and Wood-Wright Co. is a design and build company specializing in reclaim materials. We build furniture up to homes all with our MMWWco style. Our creative space is located in Stromsburg, the old school shop.

Meeting Students’ Needs

Lisa Shoup of Stromsburg has been taking in school supplies through donations and purchases for six years, then she redistributes them to anyone who needs them. She started seeing this need in the community and surrounding area, and felt the Holy Spirit prompting her to address this need.
Cross County student Wyatt Smith of Osceola represented Nebraska at the 2022 LEAD (Leaders Engaged in Angus Development) Conference, July 28-31 in Lexington, Ky. A total of 100 juniors from 26 states and Canada attended the conference, “Angus takes the Triple Crown,” where they enhance leadership and interpersonal skills while learning more about the beef industry.
