Finish the Story

What a difference a week can make. Last Sunday we celebrated Palm Sunday — marking the day that Jesus had his triumphal entry into Jerusalem. Days later he was betrayed, convicted, beaten and crucified. But the story doesn’t end there. Jesus died on Friday and rose from the grave on Sunday.

Does the Truth Matter?

We live in a dark, fallen world. It’s not the same world I remember growing up in. I hate to imagine what it will be when my children are adults with families of their own. As you may already know there was a school shooting at a Christian school in Tennessee earlier this week.

Stay Out of the Street

I love spring. The weather is finally starting to warm up. You go outside with just a jacket and enjoy a little fresh air. Earlier this week Kimberly and I took the kids outside to play.

Why Do We Change?

My kids love to dance. All four of them. Calvin, when he was a baby, would do a hilarious “Happy Dance.” Over time that dance went away. Recently I was at home in our apartment above the PCN Worldwide Headquarters and the kids wanted to do a video on YouTube.

I Love Video Games

I have a confession to make: I love video games. I find it so relaxing to be able to pick up my Nintendo Switch after the kids go to bed and after I talk about my day with my wife and play a good Mario level. I grew up playing Mario and Sonic games.

What is Your Legacy?

March Madness is upon us. No, not that March Madness. Those brackets and that tournament won’t start for a few more weeks — although I admit I love the final weeks of college basketball as the talking heads begin debating who gets in, who is left out and who should have been left out.

Fix the Playoff System

Let’s talk about the elephant in the room. The playoff system for high school sports in the state of Nebraska is broken. This week Osceola boys are traveling to Lincoln for the D2-3 Subdistrict. The opening round games are being played at Parkview Christian, the host school.

Naps Do a Body Good

I don’t know about you, but I love taking a good nap. Sometimes on a Sunday afternoon I will run away from my four children after lunch and go hide in my bed.

It’s Report Card Time

So, the local schools are still a few weeks away from getting report cards, but it’s time for a PCN Report Card. I want to hear from you. What do we do well. What do we need to improve on? Do we cover all our communities equally? Do we cover our high school sports teams equally?

What a Tournament . . .

Man, what a tournament. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, only one team leaves with tears of joy. Everyone else just leaves with tears. That was some Crossroads Conference Tournament last week in York. I’ve been around a few basketball tournaments, but none stack up against the CRC.
