Hengelfelt Leads Cougars to CRC Runner Up

YORK – While Sydney Hengelfelt was a junior high volleyball player, her mother Mandy and grandmother Nancy would video her matches and provide commentary as “The Mandy and Nancy Show,” a light and breezy approach to remember the event.

Williams Stars in Ord Grid Win Over Cross County

ORD – Justin Williams did it all for Ord High School’s football team in the first half of his team’s 42-14 win over visiting Cross County, scoring four touchdowns and recovering a fumble as the host Chanticleers took a 24-0 halftime lead.

COUGARS CRC RUNNER UP & BULLDOGS 3RD

YORK - It was a long night of volleyball with the consolation game starting at 6 PM with Osceola against High Plains.After five long sets, Osceola came out victorious. Although each set seemed to end with the team capitalizing on their opponent’s mistake.

Cougars Lost at GICC 45-6, Fall to 3-4

GRAND ISLAND – Despite a 62-yard touchdown run by Langdon Arbuck, the Cross County football team dropped a 45-6 decision at Grand Island Central Catholic last Friday to fall to 3-4 overall.

Cougars Win on Pink Out Night, Sweep Dorchester

STROMSBURG – In honor of cancer awareness, Cross County’s volleyball team had players single out inspirational cancer survivors and relatives they were playing for last Thursday in a home match against Dorchester.

Cougars Squeak by Wildcats

STROMSBURG – The St. Paul Wildcats came to Stromsburg to face the Cougars. The Cougars won 22-20 and moved to 3-3.St. Paul got the ball first but punted after four downs. The Cougars followed similarly with runs by Eli Greenwall and Tyion Francis before punting. St.

Slammers End Season with Loss to York

YORK – During losses this season, the Polk County Slammers have made an average of three errors per game and in Class B-8 sub-district semifinal play Monday afternoon the trend continued to the team’s detriment.

Boone Central Crushes Cougars

STROMSBURG – After winning the NSAA Class C-1 state football title, Boone Central graduated a slew of seniors and de-consolidated with Newman Grove to move down to the Class C-2 level.

Cougars Play Hard, Come Up Short Against Cardinals

DONIPHAN – The Cougars traveled to Doniphan for a road game. The game was close, but the Cougars fought hard and came up short, 28-24.The Cardinals got the ball first, and ended up punting. The Cougars took the ball a few yards, but couldn’t convert.
