Cougar defense dominant in 49-12 win over Raiders

STROMSBURG — Cross County used stingy defense to run by Mead 49-12 in the opening round of the Runza Holiday Tournament Wednesday afternoon. The Cougars (5-3) jumped out to a 17-0 lead before the Raiders (1-6) would put the ball through basket with 2:34 remaining in the first quarter.

STROMSBURG — After three games of the boys basketball season, five Cross County players had scored in double figures at least once — Tanner Hollinger, Alex Noyd, Ashton Seim, Hayden Allen and Thatcher Hanson — as the Cougars attempted to diversify their offense.

Cougars Open Season with Blowout Victories

STROMSBURG — After winning its opener by 22 points Thursday at McCool Junction, the Cross County boys basketball team produced a 39-point home win over Shelby-Rising City on Friday to move to 2-0 on the season.
