The High Plains gym in Polk has been closed all summer as the floors were completely redone to get ready for the upcoming falls sports season. Hunters may purchase leftover Nebraska big game permits beginning Aug. 5.These 2026 permits, which remain from earlier application and purchase periods, may be purchased within permit limits starting at 10 a.m. Central time until they sell out.

Flatwater Landing WMA closed temporarily due to low water

Flatwater Landing Wildlife Management Area, which sits along the Platte River in Platte County, is closed temporarily to vehicle access. Extremely low water prevents access to the boat ramp by watercraft.ATVs and UTVs also currently are not allowed on the WMA.

Evangelism is “Scary” but Necessary

Evangelism is sharing God’s Word, the Gospel, with others. Hopefully evangelism results in a conversion, but that doesn’t measure success. Even planting a seed is good, maybe it will grow.Sunday, the message in my church was partly on evangelism.
