STROMSBURG - The Stromsburg Chamber of Commerce presents annual awards for a volunteer, teacher and legend of the year. Then the EMT/ambulance presents an emergency responder of the year. This year that was done during First Friday, during Angie Kriz and the Polkatoons intermission.

Former Coach Out of Jail on Bond

CENTRAL CITY — A former High Plains boys basketball coach is out on $100,000 bail after posting the $10,000 bond.Jonathon T. Scheerer-Hamm, 28, of Clarks, was arrested May 27 and faces 10 counts of possession of child pornography. A preliminary hearing is set for 11 a.m.

CENTRAL CITY — A former High Plains boys basketball coach is out on $100,000 bail after posting the $10,000 bond. Jonathon T. Scheerer-Hamm, 28, of Clarks, was arrested May 27 and faces 10 counts of possession of child pornography. A preliminary hearing is set for 11 a.m.

City Supervisor/Public Works Director Lenard Schaefer met with NDOT about the construction on highway 81 in Stromsburg on Tuesday, May 27th. The state is making progress on the construction, but the rainy weather lately hasn’t helped.
