Wednesday, July 9th from 6-8 PM the Farmer’s Market will be at the Polk County Fair.No vendor fee! Bring your own power, and bring your own table. It’s outdoors with plenty of space. Food trucks available. Live music, free carnival rides and fun activities for all.

A Second Take

A few years ago, I drove my 1951 Chevy pickup to a landscaping and gravel yard to get a load of garden soil. I was met by the owner, an old-timer, whose head was bandaged in white gauze, his left arm hanging from a sling. Seems he had fallen off the roof of a greenhouse while patching a leak.

Swedish Festival

Plans for the Stromsburg Swedish Midsommar Festival are made and posters printed. The popular yellow booklet with details of the schedule of events are available. There may be a few additions, which will be posted to the website, but it is very close to final.

Annual Booster Club Golf Tourney

Cross County’s 20th annual golf tournament and fundraiser will be Saturday, July 26th at Ryan Hill Country Club with an 8 am registration and 9 am shotgun start.Register by July 19th by contacting Jarod Capler or Rachel Branting.It’s a 2-person scramble with cost of $60 which includes lunch.

Blood Pressure Clinics

Clinics to monitor blood pressure will also be held each Tuesday of the month. They will be held at the Senior Center and rotate between each town in Polk County.
