Chadron State College Releases President’s List

CHADRON, NE -- Chadron State College has announced the names of students who qualified for the institution’s Spring 2023 academic honors lists. The President’s List contains students with a 4.0 grade point average on a 4.0 scale.

4-H Kids Prepare for the County Fair

Polk County kids prepare all summer for the county fair. They have been tending to their animals, sewing and/or crafting so they can enter something or several items in the fair. It’s all worth it when they receive a purple ribbon and maybe even qualify for the state fair.

BRINGING HOME THE MEDALS

Denver, CO – Ava Pruter and Ella Cramer took home champion honors at the 2023 FCCLA National Leadership Conference. The duo competed in FCCLA’s Professional Presentation STAR event. They were announced as the middle school national champions on July 6.

Lightning Hits Shelby

Shelby fire chief Jon Eller reported the Shelby Fire and Shelby Ambulance were dispatched to the east Central Valley Ag elevator in Shelby for a lightning strike on Friday morning, July 7th. This is where a new elevator is being built. The Polk County Sheriff's office was also on scene.

Gresham Softball 10U and 14U will play at home Thursday, July 6th, at 6:00 and 7:30 p.m. Monthly Senior Dinner will be Monday, July 10th, at noon at the Community Center. Centennial Board of Education will meet Monday, July 10th, at 8 p.m.
