Maxine Iola Beckstrom, 98, of York, Nebraska, passed away on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at Midwest Covenant Home in Stromsburg. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2025 at 2:30 pm. at the Solt-Wagner Funeral Home in Central City. Interment will follow at Swede Plain Cemetery near Polk, NE.

Maxine was born on February 25, 1927, in York County, Nebraska, to McKinley and Faye (Campbell) Erland. She grew up in the rural areas of Polk, Hamilton, and Merrick Counties and graduated from Central City High School in 1945.
She worked at Woody’s Café, Wilder’s Café, and the G.I.Ammunition Plant until its closure. Later, she moved to Lincoln, where she was employed at Kreager’s and the Mayfair Grill.
On December 8, 1949, Maxine was united in marriage to Irvin Beckstrom. Together, they made their home on a farm in Polk County, where they raised four children and shared 66 years of marriage. In 2013, Maxine and Irvin moved to York, where they continued to enjoy time with their family and friends.
Maxine had many interests and hobbies throughout her life. She loved horseback riding, fishing, reading, crocheting, embroidering, cooking, woodworking, and playing solitaire and pitch. Above all, she cherished spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-granddaughter.
She is survived by her children, Janean (Richard) Randall of Omaha NE, Loren Beckstrom of Clarks, NE and Lisa Beckstrom of Aurora, NE; sister, Pat of Ohio; grandchildren, Cory and Stephanie Randall of Omaha, NE, Leanne and BenjaminAshmore ofAssaria, KS; great-granddaughter, Amara Turner.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Irvin; parents, McKinley and Faye; her brothers, Virgil, Donald, and Jerry; and her sisters, Dorothy, Virginia, Donna, Ethel, Phyllis, and Betty; son, Rodney Beckstrom.
