Jane Booth

Jane Marie Booth, age 93 of York, NE died on Sunday, March 8, 2026 at Fairmont, NE, She was born on December 19, 1932 to Elwin Dale and Frances Marie (Robson) Lewis at Benedict, NE. She graduated from Osceola High School in Osceola, NE. She was united in marriage to John Ostrom on March 25, 1951. After their divorce she married Gary Booth.

During her working years, she served as a volunteer events coordinator for Omaha hospitals. She had a creative spirit and loved crafting, often organizing beautiful flower shows for hospital fundraisers. Outside of her volunteer work, she had a special fondness for cats, which brought her great joy throughout her life.

She is survived by her daughter Kathy (Tim) Younker of Yuma, AZ and family, which includes grandchildren: Amy, Adam, and Zach and great grandchildren: Stephen (Alissa), Kaitlyn, and Ashlynn, and daughter Peggy Margeret Markham of Burley, ID and family, which includes grandson: Shawn Reynolds, great grandchildren: Walker, Ashley, Paige, Sara, and Logan, and great-great grandchildren and her son John (Penny) Booth.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Jim Lewis and former husbands.

Services will be a private affair for the family. There will be no viewing or visitation. Memorials may be directed to Fairview Manor in Fairmont, NE or Tabitha Hospice of Lincoln, NE. Condolences may be left for her family at metzmortuary. com. Metz Mortuary in York is handling arrangements.
