Alfred “Al” Louis L’Heureux, 74 died Tuesday, December 10, 2024 at York General Hospital in York, Nebraska. Celebration of Life services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at the High Prairie Community Church in Polk with Pastor Justin Smith officiating. Visitation will be Friday, December 13, 2024 from 1 to 2 p.m. at the church. Burial of ashes will be in the Swede Plain Cemetery at a later date.

Alfred was born on February 18, 1950 in Campbell, Nebraska to Doral and Marie (Wurst) L’Heureux. He grew up in the Polk area and graduated from Polk High School in 1968. He then attended and graduated from Kearney State College. He married Dianne Marie Rodine on June 5, 1976 in Polk, Nebraska.
Al worked at Overland Sand and Gravel in Stromsburg. He also taught at Meridian Public Schools and Columbus Junior High School. He farmed for over 40 years where he enjoyed his cow/calf operations. Al very much enjoyed driving a school bus for 39 years for Polk Schools.
He was currently a member of High Prairie Community Church and was on the Polk County Planning Commission.
Survivors include his wife, Dianne of Polk, NE; two sons: Jeremy (Ginger) L’Heureux of Cedar Falls, IA; Jeff (Jamie) L’Heureux of York, NE; and a daughter, Jacque (Matt) Wilkinson of York, NE; his mother, Marie of Stromsburg, NE; brother, Rodney (Janet) L’Heureux of Lincoln, NE; sister, Dorla (Mike) Lindburg of Polk, NE; step brother, Bob (Kay) Carlson of Kansas; Marie (Carl) Brown of Polk, NE; half brother, Clyde Carlson of Polk, NE; half sister, Jeanelle (Brad) Albin of Hastings, NE; grandkids: Roland Rush, Gus, Oliver L’Heureux, Cora and Clara L’Heureux, Maddie and Sarah Wilkinson.
He was preceded in death by his father; step sister Barbara Miller; and grandson Derek Wilkinson.
