Chris grew up in Stromsburg, Nebraska. At Cross County High School, he was a four-sport athlete, participating in football, basketball, track, and golf — a reflection of his competitive spirit and dedication.
A proud graduate of the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, Chris earned degrees in Finance and Economics, while also being a member of Sigma Nu fraternity. His academic success inspired a career in the financial industry upon graduating. Chris’s profession took him to Chicago, New York, Los Angeles, and Scottsdale, where he worked in a variety of roles at major financial institutions. Throughout his career, Chris’s main focus was on macroeconomics, geopolitics, and trading the global futures markets.
Outside of work, Chris found balance in his many passions — weight training, golf, and cheering for his beloved Nebraska Cornhuskers and San Francisco 49ers. Above all, he will be remembered for his generous heart, his dedication to helping the homeless, and his active involvement in his church, where he found community and purpose through service.
Chris is survived by his mother, Judy (Sapp) Moyer of Scottsdale, AZ; father, Bob Moyer of Clarks, NE; twin brother, Steven Moyer of Miami Beach, FL; and sister, Michelle Moyer of Brooklyn, NY.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Ray and Lenora Sapp; paternal grandparents, Chick and Donna Moyer; and his uncle, John Sapp.
Those who knew Chris will remember his beautiful smile, engaging personality, and unwavering loyalty. His life was guided by a genuine care for others. Though his time with us was far too short, his spirit and example will live on in the hearts of all who loved him.
