Patricia A. Vest

Patricia A. Vest, age 74, of Kearney, formerly of Polk and Pleasanton, passed away Saturday, March 28, 2026, at Mother Hull Home in Kearney. Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m., Monday, April 6, 2026, at the Pleasanton United Methodist Church with Pastor Lana Day officiating. Patricia Ann Vest was born on November 14, 1951, in Kearney, Nebraska, to Walter and Lola (Harden) Vest. She attended Pleasanton High School, graduating in 1970, and went on to attend Kearney State College, where she earned a degree in Education with a minor in music. She later got her masters in Math along with an endorsement in computers. She devoted many years as an educator at Polk High Plains Community School, where she was active in many school activities. During her time in Polk, she volunteered at the fire department, became an EMT, and was a Bible School teacher at the United Methodist Church.

Pat loved camping and fishing, trying new recipes and baking cakes for those she loved, making cards with her fellow teachers, and cheering on her favorite sports teams. She especially treasured her time with her grandkids and family gatherings.

She is survived by her son, Talus Vest and Caitlin; her four grandchildren; Estelle, Haven, Titus, and Crue, her sister, Virginia Vest; her brother, Michael Vest and Barbara; step nephews; Michael and Ben Paben, Andrew Paben and Becky, Great niece and nephew; Aloy Paben and Cyrus Paben. Also, aunts and numerous cousins.

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents Walter and Lola Vest. Grandparents; Richard and Lila Vest, Roy and Clara Harden.
