Christmas items have been appearing on store shelves for a couple of months now. In late October our satellite radio service notified us that we can now listen to Christmas music, and we have 18 different channels from which to choose. (What?—Only 18?!

Shop Local This Year

Most years I have most of my Christmas shopping done by now. This year, that is not the case. I am terrible about going into stores and seeing something I think my wife or kids will want and buying it and hiding it at home ahead of Christmas.

Relative Race

Our family has fallen in love with a television series called Relative Race. It airs on Sunday nights on BYU TV. All but the first season can be seen online. The show consists of four teams of two contestants each that travel all over the US meeting relatives over a ten-day period.

Reaching Milestones

A few weeks ago I reached a milestone birthday. No, it doesn’t end in a zero. It’s more personal and significant than that. I reached the same birthday that would be my mother’s last birthday. It was just days before I moved to Nebraska.

I admit I’m not very political. Yes, I care what goes on in my country, state and town but I would rather not spend too much time on it. I could fall asleep watching the national news on TV. I do better with state news.
