Meeting Students’ Needs

Lisa Shoup of Stromsburg has been taking in school supplies through donations and purchases for six years, then she redistributes them to anyone who needs them. She started seeing this need in the community and surrounding area, and felt the Holy Spirit prompting her to address this need.

The Polk County Historical Society has worked to get the John Mickey house restored, and finally the finished product is done thanks to the work of Jeff Lacy and his crew of Mischievous Metals and WoodWright Co.

OSCEOLA — Ready, set, go. The Osceola girls’ basketball team is making preparations for a color run in September. The 5K walk/run will take place Saturday, Sept. 24 at 8:30 a.m. Registration is from 7:30-8:15 a.m. Sign-up by Sept. 8 to guarantee a T-shirt for the event.

TEN YEARS AGO August 2, 2012 Osceola Public Schools was chosen as a finalist for an America’s Farmers Grow Rural Education grant. There are 24 finalists in Nebraska, and the school could receive up to $25,000. Bob Zelasney is a legacy at the Bob Zelasney is a legacy at the Osceola ball field.
